Hello everybody!!!!
After leaving Louisianna last week, we took a nice leisurely drive (about 4 hours) through Mississippi and Alabama, and arrived at Big Lagoon State Park in North Florida, just outside Pensacola along the panhandle. It was a beautiful and very quiet park, and we enjoyed our relaxing lay-low days while we were there. The weather was lovely, nice, warm and sunny. Even though there was no beach๐ for us to catch some rays, they did have a walking trail that ended at a pier overlooking the blue serene water. One of the mornings, we decided we deserved a breakfast out before heading out for our "touristy" day. We ended up crossing the border into Alabama, which was surprisingly close (imagine the distance between New York and New Jersey), at The Ruby Slipper, a yummy breakfast place serving delicious Southern food. We stopped along the beach in nearby Orange Beach, AL to stick our feet in the nice, soft sand. We then strolled through a farmers market in downtown Pensacola, before heading back to camp for some school work๐, tinkering, and relaxing.
Before we knew it, our stay there had come to an end, and it was time to hit the road, and head to our next destination. We drove about 215 miles within Florida, from Pensacola to Tallahassee and arrived at The Mead Family Campground, Sunday afternoon. Cousin Maria was there to greet and welcome us with open arms, as she was wonderful enough to have us stay in their very large driveway. We pulled in, set up, gave the tour of the rig, and started a wonderful 3 days with family. It was so great being so close to everyone- Maria and Rick, Brianna and Drew, and Dakota- It was a busy few days, visiting, laughing, catching up. We had been there at the beginning of our trip, and leaving this morning was just as hard.๐...But don't worry Meads, we'll be back!!!
We've got about 10, 3 days stops left until we get back home, many of which are in the sunny state of Florida. Keep all your fingers and toes crossed that the weather holds out for us. Sorry to those of you getting snow right now๐⛄.
Until next time....
We love and miss you all---But will see you all soon!!
Greg & Laura
