Hanukkah at the Alamo!!

Happy Hanukkah from Texas!!!

Greeting from San Antonio, Texas!! And wishing all our family and friends a very Happy Hanukkah!! Greg made a Menorah for us (I like a dummy forgot ours at home and definitely noooo place to buy one in this neck of the woods), so we are able to light the candles in our "home away from home".
We spent a quick overnight at a campground in Beaumont, Texas, taking it easy and just enjoying the beautiful weather. It was a sunny 70 degrees the other day...sorry for all you back homeπŸ˜”. After leaving there, we headed west on I10 for about 5 hours to San Antonio. The drive was uneventful for the most part, except for the almost near miss we had on the road as we reached Houston. Thanks to the new brakes Greg had installed, we were absolutely fine!!!
Today, was a beautiful "touristy" day for us. We got up early, then headed to downtown San Antonio to take in the sights and the River Walk. We toured the Alamo....absolutely a must see for all!! Grabbed some lunch at a restaurant along the Riverwalk called Casa Rios, for some yummy authentic Mexican fare. Again, thanks to YELP it was very delicious. After lunch, we walked (and walked and walked) along the beautiful river bank....there is so much history here! Went into some shops, took in the sights and sounds of the city. By the time we decided we were pooped and had enough exercise for the day, it was time for a light dinner. We stopped at a local pub"ish" place called Zinc Bistro & Wine Bar (thank you YELP), for a quick bite. It was then time to walk back down along the Riverwalk to see the lights....it is all decorated for the holidays-the trees, the buildings, even the water is lit up...a beautiful sight to see.
Greg has a follow-up with a doctor tomorrow, and we plan to drive to Austin afterward, to do some more of the touristy stuff.
We've had a wonderful yet long day, so at 7:30 pm, we are calling it a night.
Until next time...We love and miss you all!!!
