Our time in Florida has officially come to an end, as well as the beautiful warm, sunny weather😔.
We had a lovely few days in Palm Springs at the John Prince State Park Campgrounds. It was a nice drive, down Alligator Alley, enjoying the scenery and the many birds flying along with us. Wednesday afternoon, we drove to Jupiter, about 45 minutes away, to The Roger Dean Stadium, to catch my first ever Spring Training Baseball Game!! There we met up with our friends Frank and Tina, who flew down to hang with us (and stay with us later in the week) and to get away from the terrible New York weather. It was the NY Mets vs. the Miami Marlins, "batting it out"(haha) on a delightfully sunny Florida afternoon. The game wasn't all that exciting, but we had a great time nonetheless! After the game, Greg and I took the scenic route home and drove along the beach. There were huge houses (some beautiful, some NOT) on one side, and the clear blue-green water on the other side...absolutely gorgeous! The next afternoon, we drove to Cousin Anthony's house in Delray Beach, for some bagels and coffee (one of my favorites meals ever!!), to visit and chat and catch up a bit. Unfortunately, Judy wasn't there, but we all know she was there in spirit.😃
Friday morning, we got up and out and headed to our next stop...The Fort Pierce/Port St. Lucie KOA. It was a small campground, but it was perfect for what we needed. It was also the only spot available, as we are still fighting with the thousands of snowbirds down here. After we checked in, unhitched, and set up, we were joined by Frank and Tina, who were staying with us for the weekend. I had heard there were a bunch of manatees in the waters nearby, so Tina and I took a little walk to take a look. There were several there in the water, they are massive, and move very slow...but are still beautiful creatures. We were able to get to another baseball game Saturday afternoon, this time at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, and saw the Mets beat the Washington Nationals...Whoohoo!! It was an exciting game, and we had another great afternoon in spite of the 80 degrees, humid weather we had😕. Cousin John stopped by the campsite with his two little pups-Ripley and Oliver, for a quick visit. We all met up for dinner at Conchy Joe's Seafood the next night- Cousins John and Rebecca, Cousin Danny, Cousin Anthony, Friends Tina and Frank, Couple Laura and Greg😁. We enjoyed yet another wonderful meal with fantastic friends and family!! We love you guys!! We had such a wonderful time, visiting, catching up, and most of all laughing the entire time!!
Monday morning was moving day, our last stop in the Sunshine State. We arrived at North Beach Camp Resort in St. Augustine, Florida in the early afternoon. Heavy rains were forecasted during the day and began just as we got to our site, and lasted a few hours. We ventured into town after a delicious dinner at "home", not wanting to miss out on a lovely evening because of the silly rain. St. Augustine is a quaint little town, with narrow streets, tons of history and old architecture, and lots of little shops (even though most were closed when we got there...afraid of a little rain?). Yesterday, we decided to head back to town, grabbed a fabulous dinner at The Ice Plant, then walked around some more. Most of the shops still were not open, but we had a blast anyway. We took in some history as we meandered around the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument, an old military fort from the 1500s...sooo cool!!!
This morning was moving day again...say goodbye to Florida ♫♪♬♪. It rained again after we got back last night, but this morning was beautiful. We walked down to the beach, and got the most beautiful sunrise as a send-off!!! This afternoon we arrived in Savannah, only for a quick overnight and we head to Charleston tomorrow morning for a 4-night stay. Cousin Bridgette is meetng us there, hopefully the current snow storm up north won't affect her flight...fingers crossed.
Until next time...
We love and miss you all!!

Anyone know what a SPEED TABLE is??? (Hence, the title of this post😊) |
Ending with a gorgeous sunrise!!!
No, I don’t know what a speed table is. What is it? Yay Florida! Were you able to visit Megan and Melissa? I hope Aunt Bridgette can fly out soon. We got ALOT of snow last night. Schools are closed and we are enjoying our snow day!
ReplyDeleteFrom what we can tell, it's a kind of speed deterent, but doesn't make much sense.LOL.
DeleteWe unfortunately we were not able to hook up with the girls, all of us were sad and dissapointed. Hopefully, they'll make it to NY for a visit. Bridgette got snowed in...all that stinking snow kept her from getting to the airport!! :(
