Back in Apache Junction,AZ...our home away from home!

After a very long day of traveling from Southern California, 400+ miles, roughly 8 hours on the road, we arrived safely  Wednesday evening at the KOA in Apache Junction, AZ...our 3rd time here. As we have become regulars at this campground, we were greeted and escorted to the site of our new "home" for the next week. We unhitched, unpacked, and set up camp in record time, as we were both exhausted and wanted to relax. The fish I had taken out of the freezer that morning for dinner didn't thaw out😕, so we took the opportunity to head to The Handlebar Pub & Grill, for a quick and delicious meal as we sat in their outdoor patio, before settling in for the night.

The last few days have been spent tinkering, getting a jump on my school work and visiting with family. The highlight of our time here in Arizona (this time around) was attending cousin Jacqueline and John's wedding!! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in a New York style venue, with unique traditions that were equally amazing. They ended their wedding vows with a symbolic tieing of a Sailors Knot...an absolutely lovely token of the bride and groom bonding their love....there was definitely not one dry eye left in the house!!! The ceremony was followed by an exciting and fun reception filled with dancing, drinks, a lovely meal, a fun photo booth, and catching up with family. The only thing that could have made the day better, was being able to have the ENTIRE (a very huge and wonderful) family all there to celebrate. Although as Aunt Kathy reminded us all, we would have to rent out an entire town to make that happen...maybe one day...

After a beautiful walk around downtown Chandler, and a delicious brunch with the family (aunts, uncles, cousins...) at The Perch, we said our weepy goodbyes, and we all went our separate ways. Once again, it was a perfect end to a very beautiful weekend, that we feel honored to have been able to take part in.

Tomorrow morning, we are leaving Apache Junction (hopefully after a visit with Aunt Lynn, Uncle Tony, Aunt Kathy, and Aunt Carol), and head to our next stop....Payson, Arizona. We'll be spending the night on open land, boondocking for the first time in a long while--last time we were able to do that was back on the beach on Long Isalnd. We are prepared; we have all our propane tanks filled, plenty of water, and are ready for our next adventure. Then it's on to a campgroind at a state park in New Mexico.

Until next time...
We love and miss you all!!!
