The Pre-Journey...

Here we go.....

"The Grand Canyon of the East"

And...we're off! Well almost😄. We have spent the last few days traveling with some of our favorite people...The Savages. After a long drive out of the city (big surprise there was sooo much traffic), we had a quick overnight stay at a campground near Binghampton, in Endicott, NY. It was then on to Ontario, Canada for a few days stay at a campground near Niagra Falls.  To break up the close to four-hour drive north, we were advised to stop at a beautiful state park, aptly named "the grand canyon of the East". The beautiful afternoon was spent having a quick lunch, taking awesome pictures, and letting Liam and Myles run around in the play area. So, after our brief stopover and doing our "touristy" thing, we jumped back in the truck and headed to our campground in Niagra Falls. Thankfully, we got through the Canadian border without a hitch (thanks to Kimberly who researched what we could and could not...wink wink, bring with us). Bissell's hideaway was a family oriented park with plenty of stuff for all of us to do while we got our bearings and settled in. We spent the full day on Sunday at the falls (ahead of their annual Canada Day celebrations). The weather was beautiful, the sights were gorgeous and the food was yummy! A couple more days perusing Canada, then it was off to our next stop. Another quick overnight stay in Endicott, before making our way to Southern New Jersey. We are now at another family campground called Hospitality Creek in Williamstown to enjoy some more relaxation and fun with the Savages. Greg and I took a drive this afternoon to nearby Atlantic City where we met with some dear friends of ours, Jordan and Nicole who are there spending the weekend. Yes, I gambled a bit...a few slot machines and my favorite table game roulette. As my mom would say, "I made a donation" but we had a great time trying to win the big bucks!! Back to the campground, splashing in the pool, and hanging out with Liam, Myles, Billy, and Kimberly in the spray park. While the Savages floated along the lake, doing a bit of fishing (trying to avoid the 'sea monster'), Greg and I took the bikes out for a spin, took another dip in the pool and enjoyed the relaxation, despite the raindrops that were falling intermittently. We'll be here another couple days, then we'll head back home to get ready for the BIG trip. Oh, and in-between we're spending a long weekend in Puerto Rico, to witness our cousins Johnny and Venessa renew their wedding vows. Here's to another 20 years guys!!!!
It's a busy, busy, but exciting time for us...stay tuned for more Lopez adventures.
Love you all,
Laura and Greg
